Chuka Salad (or Hyashi Wakame) is a traditional Japanese dish based on Wakame seaweed, with the addition of sesame oil, wood mushrooms, sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, and other components. The salad is piquant with fried sesame seeds and chili peppers. As a rule, in stores they sell a ready-made salad seasoned with all the necessary spices and seasonings. It can be used as a ready-made dish, as well as added to rolls, to cook gunkan maki.
Serve hiyashi wakame salad taken with peanut sauce. Delicate, original nut sauce perfectly sets off the taste of seaweed. With it, the salad becomes even more saturated and aromatic. Various nuts or sesame seeds can serve as the basis for making nut sauce, vinegar, vegetable oil, sugar, salt, and spices are also added. Preparing peanut sauce at home is rather troublesome, it’s much easier to buy it in specialized stores of Japanese cuisine, or in a sushi bar.
In addition to its delicious taste, Chuka salad is also good for health, as it contains a large amount of potassium and iodine. In addition, scientists have found in Wakama algae substances that contribute to the burning of fat. In Japanese medicine, wakama is used to strengthen hair and improve skin condition.
